Being a Chinese-owned company, many Americans are worried that the site doesn’t protect their personal information as much as it should. In fact, the site has been accused of using forced labor to produce most of its products in China. In addition to that, many shoppers of the site believe that Temu spies on them through the in-app browser and that the spyware tracks their offsite behavior and records sensitive data like banking information, Social Security numbers, and mailing addresses.
